More information on what our beeswax wraps are made of:

Beeswax: When we remove the surplus honey frames from the beehives at the end of the summer, the honeycomb has already been capped by the honeybees with a beautiful covering of beeswax to keep it clean and safe. In order to extract the liquid honey from the frames we first remove the beeswax with a special knife and put the beeswax aside to melt down and clean at a later stage. This beeswax needs to be melted and filtered a number of times to ensure that it is sufficiently clean to use for making beeswax wraps, candles or balm. Time consuming but so rewarding to see the beautiful block of clean, fragrant beeswax at the end!

Jojoba oil is the liquid produced by the seeds of the jojoba plant. It is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, often used in cosmetics and is safe for food use. It also helps to make the beeswax wraps more malleable and easy to use.

Pine resin is a natural sticky excretion from coniferous trees. We source our pine tree resin from Spain and add this to our beeswax wrap coating to increase stickiness and ease of use.
